Job Description
- Report to the Costing Manager on all job functions related to the position
- Planning, studying and collecting data to determine costs of business activity, such as raw material purchases, inventory and labor
- Interact with Planner to ensure Bills of Materials (BOM) are accurate and up to date
- Update standard costs in the BOM as needed
- Analyzing actual manufacturing costs and preparing periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs
- Create and distribute detailed weekly open work order reports to Planning / Production Manager which include actual and estimated costs to-date as well as projections to complete
- Provide data and detailed reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products/ projects for value engineering purposes
- Work closely with finance to closeout completed project/ work order by ensuring all material, labor and outside service costs are recorded in support of timely issuance of financial statements
- Work closely with other functional areas of the company related to product costing
- Undertake other duties and responsibilities, which may be assigned by the Company from time to time with on time full closure
Job Requirements
- Candidate must possess at least Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting/ Finance or equivalent
- Preferably 1 year of cost accounting in a manufacturing/ equipment maker environment
- Fresh graduates with good academic qualifications are welcome to apply
- Understanding of cost accounting in ERP systems is an added advantage
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Preferable have cost systems background and have excellent analytical skills and business acumen
- Experience working with engineering and manufacturing personnel on development and analysis of cost standards
- Appreciate the importance for a high level of accuracy in data produced
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and finance software
- Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously and time sensitive
